The Role of Civil Society in EU integration processes: real engagement through effective involvement

2012-2013

The project is led by the International Center for Human Development (Armenia) and is implemented together with project partners from V4 countries: Institute for Public Affairs (Slovakia), Policy Association for an Open Society (Czech Republic), European Center for Non-for-Profit Law (Hungary), Association Integration and Development (Poland) and two EaP countries: Laboratory for Legislative Initiatives (Ukraine) and Georgian Foundation for Strategic and International Studies (Georgia).

Armenian-European Policy and Legal Advice Centre

2009-2011

ICHD supports the capacity building of Armenian institutions directly involved in the implementation of the EU-Armenia ENP Action Plan. Since April 2009, ICHD together with its partners in Consortium: Altair Asesores (Spain), the leading partner, East West Consulting (EWC), European Consultants Organisation (ECO), and European Social, legal and Economic Projects - ESTEP (Lithuania) implements a 24 months long Armenian-European Policy and Legal Advice Centre (AEPLAC)- Phase V project aimed primarily at building a long-lasting capacity in public administration of Armenia to implement the PCA and the ENP AP, in cooperation with the EU Advisory Group and under the guidance of the EU Delegation.

Support to Migration Management Policies and Institutions

2007-2009

Supported by the European Union, the ICHD, in partnership with the British Council and Migration Agency of Armenia, have considerably contributed into enhancing policy and institutional frameworks of migration management in Armenia. The partners implemented the “Support to migration policy development and relevant capacity building in Armenia” project anchored at three-pillar strategy aiming at policy dialogue, public awareness and reintegration assistance to returnees. It is not a secret, that the interagency coordination and cooperation have been quite weak in this area for many years.

Joint Workshop in Charentsavan, Kotayk

ICHD is currently implementing a project  "Strengthening local capacities for local democracy in Armenia through institutionalizing effective and equal public participation in local decision making", which is part of a larger project "Promoting Equal Rights and Equal Opportunities in Armenia: Women in Local Democracy". The whole project is funded by the European Union and implemented by UNDP Armenia in partnership with Ministry of Territorial Administration and ICHD.

Global Survey: ICPD Beyond 2014

From 2 September to 2 November 2012, with the support from the UN Population Fund and in close cooperation with the RoA Government the International Center for Human Development completed the International Conference on Population and Development Beyond 2014 survey questionnaire. Within the framework of that undertaking, consultative and focus group meetings with competent State bodies, civil society organizations and private companies were held and a desk review was conducted.
