ICHD and RA NSS with the financial support of the ILO implement the Project for supporting of the development of information collection, research capacity, and monitoring systems related to child labour “to provide Armenia with a tool for understanding the incidence and root causes of child labour and for planning action and measuring progress in programme intervention”.
The action aims at improving information on working children, child labour, and child labour in hazardous work in each target country or sector through data collection and in-depth analysis.more >>
2010 - 2012
In 2010-2012 Eurasia Partnership Foundation (EPF), together with the Union of Manufacturers and Businessmen of Armenia (UMBA), International Center for Human Development (ICHD), and Yerevan Press Club (YPC), known as the Fourth Wave Consortium, implemented the project “Support to Armenia-Turkey Rapprochement: The Fourth Wave” with the support of USAID. The four partner organizations have been at the forefront of Armenia-Turkey rapprochement for many years and have played a major role in engaging civil society organisations, businesses, media, and youth in cross-border cultural dialogue, and track two and people’s diplomacy. The Fourth Wave focused on three priority areas: business partnerships, civil society engagement and inter-governmental dialogue. The current policy brief aimed at analyzing the monitored online print media outlets in cases when they covered the topic of sex selection and articles that were broadly linked to the value of girls and women. The content of web-based media outlets have been scrutinized to identify any statements or reporting that could have had distorted, untruthful or prejudicial elements against women or men. All these aspects were separately analyzed quantified and also handpicked, allowing analyzing the level of stereotypical reporting either as a media intention or as an absence of intention, leading to unobstructed penetration of prejudicial statements widely circulated in the society and back by reinstating the current state of the affairs.more >>
