The Center for Global Peace provides a framework for programs and initiatives that advance the study and understanding of world peace grounded in a search for a just and sustainable world order. The “AREAT” Center was established by political scientists, sociologists, economists and conflictologists in 1998. “AREAT” is an independent non-governmental organization. The main goal of the Center is the promotion of civil society and support of democratic reforms in Azerbaijan. The Center carries out projects in different areas of public policy. AREAT has initiated of a number of conferences on problems of the transitional period and has published analytical and methodical literature. Actively participating at the partner’s program, the Center promotes the development of integration processes in the South Caucasus and the formation of peace culture and tolerance.

Arthur G. Martirosyan is a Senior Consultant with CMPartners. A student and colleague of Professor Roger Fisher, author of Getting to Yes, in his sixteen year career as a conflict management specialist, Mr. Martirosyan has been involved in the design and implementation of a series of successful strategic assistance projects in the complex ethno-political conflicts of Chechnya (Russian Federation), South Ossetia and Abkhazia (Georgia), Israel-Palestine, Iraq, Kosovo and others.
