It is not a secret that the relations between Armenia and the European Union lately have been developing with an unprecedented pace. Perhaps one of the tangible results of this development for the Armenians will be the improved access and facilitated travel to EU member states in the coming year. This is the goal of the negotiations between Armenia and the European Union regarding the Mobility Partnership and visa facilitation. It should be noted that both Armenia and the EU are rather interested in the outcomes of the negotiations and their pace.

What is the agenda of the Armenian side regarding the future of Artsakh people in the result of the negotiations? And most importantly, what is the perception of the Artsakh people themselves regarding their future? First, it is necessary to clearly perceive and present the fact that the least an Arsakhi has and wants is the minimally acceptable guarantee for his and his family's physical security, which is the only fragile but reliable factor ensuring the necessary balance during the times of conflict and war, and this guarantee is his son, the Armenian soldier at the border.

The attitudes of Armenian, Azerbaijani and Karabakhi societies towards the regulation of the Nagorno Karabakh (NK) conflict toughen with every year. The positions of the governments are even more divergent. The recent official rhetoric of Azerbaijan and the regular and intensifying violations of the ceasefire come to prove that the governments downplay their interest in negotiations in favor of non-negotiation strategies: intensifying the arms race, pressuring each other using a third power and a number of other influences.

During the second half of 2010 no positive developments registered in the relations between Armenia and Turkey. Even worse, both politicians and public opinion leaders started to voice pessimistic predictions regarding the probability of successful ratification of the Armenian-Turkish Protocols more frequently. Nowadays one often can hear the argument that the authorities of both countries will restrain from initiating any constructive action, having appeared in the vortex of national elections to be held in June, 2011 in Turkey and in 2012 and 2013 in Armenia.

The future of Nagorno-Karabakh (NK) stands out as primary both on the political agenda of the Republic of Armenia (RA) and in the dreams and concerns of every Armenian. We often try to provide assistance believing that this or that issue is important. We also think that in future our assistance, investment and our money will be a sufficient lever by themselves for achieving our aspirations.

“Green light” for environmentally neutral business development from Lisbon to Vladivostok

On March 3, 2021, the first meeting of the GreenDeal Task Force created under the Initiative Lisbon-Vladivostok was held. In the videoconference format, more than twenty authoritative experts in the field of ecology and business from Austria, Armenia, Germany, Italy, Kazakhstan, Russia, France, as well as the representatives of the largest business industry associations supporting the Initiative Lisbon-Vladivostok, discussed common approaches to harmonizing the activities implemented by the EU and the EAEU on the path to sustainable development, including a radical reduction in greenhouse gas emissions into the atmosphere by 2050.
