Supporting civil society organizations in Armenia

ICHD representatives Astghik Injeyan and Monika Sargsyan participated in a two-day conference "Supporting civil society organizations in Armenia" on 14, 15 April 2011 in Yerevan. The conference was organized by the OSCE Office in Yerevan and the European Partnership for Democracy (EPD) with financial support from the National Endowment for Democracy. With some fifty representatives from Armenian and European civil society groups, the conference strived to facilitate a constructive exchange of views, best practices and lessons learned from Central and Eastern Europe. In three separate panels the participants discussed strengthening democratic institutions through civic participation and free media; a case study of civil society involvement in environmental protection; and strengthening good governance by increasing government transparency and combating corruption.

“Green light” for environmentally neutral business development from Lisbon to Vladivostok

On March 3, 2021, the first meeting of the GreenDeal Task Force created under the Initiative Lisbon-Vladivostok was held. In the videoconference format, more than twenty authoritative experts in the field of ecology and business from Austria, Armenia, Germany, Italy, Kazakhstan, Russia, France, as well as the representatives of the largest business industry associations supporting the Initiative Lisbon-Vladivostok, discussed common approaches to harmonizing the activities implemented by the EU and the EAEU on the path to sustainable development, including a radical reduction in greenhouse gas emissions into the atmosphere by 2050.
