The seminar aimed to explore the role of migration in the context of the UNCSD-Rio+20 and the provisions of the "zero draft" of the outcome document of the conference. The training session was an occasion to analyze the advantages and challenges that migration poses in the context of sustainable development and illustrate migration policies and programs instrumental to mitigate the effects of social, economic, and environmental challenges.

The seminar was organized by the United Nations Institute of Training and Research (UNITAR), the International Organization for Migration (IOM), the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and the MacArthur Foundation.
