ICHD and other leading local non-governmental organizations in Armenia ring the bell on the arrest of the reporter and photographer for local “Haykakan Zhamanak” Ani Gevorgyan. The report was taken into custody on June 1st 2010. The authorities allege the 23 years old journalist a crime of violence against the representative of the authorities. The organizations have condemned the violence against journalists and recalled that such realities are intolerable in democratic society. They have requested Armenian authorities to enforce the legislation protecting journalists acting in their professional capacity and to apply sanctions against those who violate the rightful professional activities of journalists. The local organizations also urged the Police to release the arrested journalist immediately, to cease the prosecution of the reporter and to punish the officers who have abused their powers.
On January 30, 2024 ICHD organized the first Town Hall Meeting within ACE in Vayk consolidated community, comprising 17 rural and urban settlements, in close collaboration with the local government, "Solution Hub" NGO and their beneficiaries, active young people from the community.
