This report presents the process and the key results of the August 13, 2024 youth-oriented Town Hall Meeting (THM) organized within the “Armenia Civics for Engagement” (ACE) Program.
The goal of the “Armenia Civics for Engagement” Program is to improve the quality of Armenia’s formal and non-formal civic education to foster youth public participation and advancement of democratic processes in Armenia. The Program is implemented by Project Harmony International and its sub-awardees International Center for Human Development, Armenian Center for Democratic Education-CIVITAS and National Center of Educational Technologies. more >>Within the Comprehensive Assessment of Youth Engagement in Decision Making (CAYEDMA), commissioned by the International Center for Human Development within the program "Armenia Civics for Engagement" (ACE), an online survey was carried out among high school students, their parents, teachers and school principals to identify their practices and perceptions of engagement in decision making at various levels: family, school, community and the national level. The report on the findings are available in Armenian only.
more >>The Comprehensive Assessment of Youth Engagement in Decision Making (CAYEDMA) was implemented by the International Center for Human Development in 2022-23 within the program "Armenia Civics for Engagement" (ACE), with the purpose to identify the strengths, gaps, challenges and opportunities of youth engagement in decision-making. CAYEDMA aimed to examine how and to what extent Velvet Revolution of 2018, the Covid-19 pandemic in early 2020, the escalation of the conflict in Nagorno Karabakh in the fall of 2020, and the subsequent military clashes on the border of the country have affected youth aspirations and readiness to engage in decision-making processes in Armenia, how their agency and beliefs get manifested in these processes and how young people choose to engage in them. This Guidebook aims to present the legislative regulations on receiving written information from competent bodies and officials during the work of the Inquiry Committee; upon Committee’s request, attendance and provision of explanations by the competent officials to the Committee as well as applicable liabilities in case these persons fail to comply with the requirements of the law.
This Guidebook has been developed within the framework of “Strengthening the capacity of the National Assembly in strategic political debate and communication” project. The project is implemented by the International Center for Human Development non-governmental organization within the framework of UK’s Good Governance Fund, with support of the British people.
The translation of the Guide into English has been made within the UNDP “Modern Parliament for a Modern Armenia” project, co-implemented with the OxYGen Foundation, the International Center for Human Development, and the Westminster Foundation for Democracy, in cooperation with the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia.
