2014

SIGRDRÍFA goal project is to strengthen evidence-based and gender-sensitive security sector reforms in Armenia through policy research and dialogue. It attempts to assess perceptions and experiences of the target population groups related to the gender roles and service of women in the Defense Sector; and to facilitate a multi-stakeholder policy dialogue on mainstreaming gender and promoting gender equality in Defense Sector Reform process. It targets female and male personnel at various levels and structures in the Defense Sector, as well as institutions in this sector. It specifically will benefit young women and men and their parents. The major public and non-public agencies engaged in Security Sector Reforms and Gender and Development include the Administration of the President of RA, Ministry of Defense of RA, the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs (MLSA), the National Assembly of RA, as well as academia, and CSOs.

2012

The project undertaken by ICHD contributed to the advancement of ICPD agenda in EECA region. The overall objective of the action was to organize the ICPD review in Armenia engaging all key stakeholders in the government, civil society (including youth organizations, as well as representatives at sub-national levels when relevant), and academia.

2013

The conflict in Syria has forced more than two million people out of the country, among whom Syrian Armenians, one of the significant Christian diaspora communities in the Middle East.  A growing number of Syrian Armenians find refuge in Armenia.  According to the Ministry of Diaspora of Republic of Armenia (RoA), there are around 11, 000 Syrian Armenians currently residing in Armenia.

In the Syrian context, Sexual and Gender Based Violence (SGBV) has been singled out as one of the most salient features of the conflict. UNHCR Armenia commissioned a study within the Syrian community in Armenia in order to identify the forms and prevalence of SGBV among the women of the community.

“Green light” for environmentally neutral business development from Lisbon to Vladivostok

On March 3, 2021, the first meeting of the GreenDeal Task Force created under the Initiative Lisbon-Vladivostok was held. In the videoconference format, more than twenty authoritative experts in the field of ecology and business from Austria, Armenia, Germany, Italy, Kazakhstan, Russia, France, as well as the representatives of the largest business industry associations supporting the Initiative Lisbon-Vladivostok, discussed common approaches to harmonizing the activities implemented by the EU and the EAEU on the path to sustainable development, including a radical reduction in greenhouse gas emissions into the atmosphere by 2050.
