Since May 2015, the International Center for Human Development partnership with the Stichting Save the Children Nederland (STC Netherlands), Armavir Development Centre (ADC), Martuni Women’s Community Council (MWCC) and Save the Children (STC) International has been implementing the project “Combating Gender-Biased Sex Selection in Armenia” funded by the European Commission. In the framework of the project ICHD organized a kick-off meeting of the Syunik Community of Practice (CoP), which took place on August 18. It was attended by the representatives of local authorities, Standing Committee on Gender Issues of the Syunik Regional Administration, media, civil society organizations, social workers, and Armenian Apostolic Church. They discussed the actions and activities of the project, and learnt of details of the CoP objectives and tasks. Similar meetings will be held in all the regions of Armenia and in Yerevan.
On January 30, 2024 ICHD organized the first Town Hall Meeting within ACE in Vayk consolidated community, comprising 17 rural and urban settlements, in close collaboration with the local government, "Solution Hub" NGO and their beneficiaries, active young people from the community. The results are summarized in the THM report available in Armenian only.
