Towards Fair and Transparent Elections

On March 23, the Prosecutor Generals Office of the Republic of Armenia, with the support from the Embassy of the United States in Armenia, hosted a conference to clarify the responsibilities of law enforcement agencies in ensuring free, fair, and transparent elections.  The conference was organized by the International Center for Human Development. Among the participants there were representatives of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, International Foundation for Election Systems, civil society and media organizations.

The conference  featured opening remarks by the Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan, the Prosecutor General Aghvan Hovsepyan, and the United States Ambassador in Armenia John Heffern. The Speaker of the National Assembly Samvel Nikoyan made a presentation.  There were also moderated panel discussions and Q&A sessions, involving senior officials from the Central Electoral Commission, various law enforcement agencies, Counterpart International, the office of the Human Rights Defender, and media.

Town Hall Meeting within ACE in Vayk

On January 30, 2024 ICHD organized the first Town Hall Meeting within ACE in Vayk consolidated community, comprising 17 rural and urban settlements, in close collaboration with the local government, "Solution Hub" NGO and their beneficiaries, active young people from the community. The results are summarized in the THM report available in Armenian only.
