International Expert Meeting in Yerevan

ICHD and the UNFPA Armenia country office organized an international expert meeting in Yerevan on October 19-21.This year, UNFPA, national governments and development partners are marking the 17th anniversary of the 1994 International Conference on Population and Development (ICPD) by taking stock of how much has been accomplished and how much more is left to do. The “7 Billion: Balance, Rights and Equity” expert meeting in Yerevan was part of a major review process of the ICPD agenda on its upcoming 20th anniversary.

The aim of the meeting was to help identify gaps and challenges, consolidate lessons learned over the last years, and come up with practical recommendations for accelerating progress in Eastern Europe and Central Asia. Fertility, migration, ageing and mortality have been identified as the most prevalent trends shaping the future demographics of Eastern Europe and Central Asia and the experts shared expertise on each of the issues and made relevant recommendations to address the challenges in the mentioned regions.

Town Hall Meeting within ACE in Vayk

On January 30, 2024 ICHD organized the first Town Hall Meeting within ACE in Vayk consolidated community, comprising 17 rural and urban settlements, in close collaboration with the local government, "Solution Hub" NGO and their beneficiaries, active young people from the community. The results are summarized in the THM report available in Armenian only.
