On 22-23 November 2012, International Center for Human Development is organizing a joint conference, which is a part of a one year project “The Role of Civil Society in EU integration processes: real engagement through effective involvement”, supported by the International Visegrad Fund Flagship Project within the V4EaP program.

The conference  brought together representatives of Visegrad countries (Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary), as well as from Eastern Partnership (EaP) countries (Armenia, Georgia, Ukraine) and Civil Society Organizations. The major focus of the conference was the presentation of the Visegrand country best practices and lessons learned in the process of European integration, as well the gaps and challenges in EaP countries, based on which a list of recommendations will be elaborated by the conference participants. The second phase of this one year project envisages local capacity building trainings for the Civil Society Organizations in EaP countries with the involvement of local and international experts.

The objective of the Conference is to discuss: 

• The unique experience and know-how of the Visegrad Group countries with the role of the civil society in the European integration processes and

• 
  Possibilities of strengthening the institutional capacity by contributing the development of civil society in Eastern Partnership countries.
