ICHD is currently implementing a project  "Strengthening local capacities for local democracy in Armenia through institutionalizing effective and equal public participation in local decision making", which is part of a larger project "Promoting Equal Rights and Equal Opportunities in Armenia: Women in Local Democracy". The whole project is funded by the European Union and implemented by UNDP Armenia in partnership with Ministry of Territorial Administration and ICHD. In the framework of this project joint a workshop was organized in the Town Hall  of Ashtarak on May 21, aimed at discussing alternative development projects of Ashtarak community that could be implemented with community budget for 2014.  Members of the Aragatsotn Cluster of  the Community of Practice in facilitated participatory discussions, as well as, Mr. Armen Antonyan, Mayor of Ashtarak, Deputy Mayors Mr. Gevorg Eghiazaryan and Mr. Haroutyun Baghdasaryan, Mr. Armen Galstyan, Executive Director of ICHD and Mr. Vahan Asatryan participated in the workshop.
